The Red is a beautiful erotic story about an art gallery owner who sells her body to a mysterious man to save The Red from bankruptcy. I trust her to to give her readers something that will blow their mind and their panties off, and she’s yet to disappoint. I normally don’t get into books without a romance or love story, but by god, if Tiffany Reisz writes something, I’ll read it. The Red is erotica in its purest, dirtiest, and finest form… and I wholeheartedly LOVED IT. The Red is literally the hottest book I’ve ever read in my life, and I’ve read the Original Sinners series, which you know is saying something. Then again, she did promise to do anything to save The Red… The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting…but surely her mother didn’t mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger. Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it’s in the red. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother’s art gallery. The Red is a standalone novel of erotic fantasy from Tiffany Reisz, international bestselling author of The Bourbon Thief and the Original Sinners series.

Atticus Turner and his taciturn father, Montrose, are in Virginia looking for evidence of their Black slave ancestors when they find they’re suddenly under attack by a White Supremacist they faced in Massachusetts in Lovecraft Country. The Destroyer of Worlds opens in 1957 with Chicago’s Turner and Dandridge families once again menaced by alien forces. Now, Ruff returns with a sequel to Lovecraft Country and a promise of several more books chronicling the Turner and Dandridge families in the late 1950s as they confront racism…and Lovecraftian weirdness. I read Matt Ruff’s Lovecraft Country back in 2016 (you can read my review here) and watched the HBO series based on Lovecraft Country (you can read my review of that series here). She’s so wide eye and full of life when we are introduced to her. She’s so incredible strong, and I adored her from the first interaction. Iris is an incredible character, and her personal growth throughout the story gave me chills. It’s clear this story was created with the intention to enlighten individuals and such care within to accurately portraying characters and how the story should go. I can only keep repeating hat it’s an emotional experience and the author dares to take daring risks that many authors might not do. There are so many layers to this book, and I don’t have the words to describe it. Before reading everyone should check the trigger warnings. Long Shot was a book that pulled all the emotions out of me. And it didn’t impact me as much as it did this time. I had a purchased copy on my Kindle however, I don’t remember it. Apparently, I have read this story before. I finished this story with tears in my eyes and even after a few days I find myself thinking about this story. *Contains intimate partner violence not involving the hero.
